Angelina Vera, MD, is a board-certified, orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and the treatment of injuries to the hip, knee, ankle and shoulder. She provides expert care to her patients by using the latest advanced treatments and minimally invasive techniques to speed recovery. She is dedicated to the prevention and management of sport and dance related injuries. She has particular interest in hip pathology, anatomic variances, and genetics as they relate to the dancer. Dr. Vera has presented her research at multiple national and international conferences and authored several peer-reviewed publications. 

Dr. Vera earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Injury Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She worked as a professional dancer, instructor, and choreographer for over 10 years before, during, and after her undergraduate career. She subsequently attended the University of Nevada School of Medicine for her medical doctorate (M.D.). She completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital and completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.

During her time in Houston, Dr. Vera worked with the Houston Ballet, Houston Astros, and Rice University track and football teams. She is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society, and The Arthroscopy Association of North American. She looks forward to serving the Las Vegas community as an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in dance medicine.
